I thought the president made a very forceful and compelling speech. He is a talented speaker. And I think he did a very good job with the facts he had to work with tonight. I also think he tried to cover so many topics that it’s hard to condense a response to just one or two sentences. I support the call for funding for education for helping students in community colleges. … I like the fact that we should revitalize our community colleges. I really think in Mississippi and elsewhere this would be a very important investment in providing skills for those in the workforce as well as enriching the lives of those who have the opportunity to go to college. … I like the the idea that he challenged the Congress to put aside partisan differences and help strengthen our country.
